Ensures the availability of a clean and sanitary supply of dishware, glassware, trays, pots, pans, utensils, and/or other smallwares. Responsible for cleaning of equipment, kitchen, and floors as needed throughout each meal period. Maintains and sanitizes the dish machine & pot area, pulper room and extruder room. Ensures a clean dining service facility. Must interact well with customers, co-workers and supervisors. Must work effectively, both independently and as a team member. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the center. Scott Arboretum Summer Intern

The Scott Arboretum Summer Internship offers a unique work experience in a campus arboretum well-suited to an individual interested in a career in ornamental/public horticulture. On-the-job training includes exposure to garden maintenance, plant records and curation, plant propagation, and volunteer interaction. Summer interns rotate with gardening staff affording exposure to all areas of the Scott Arboretum including a sustainable rose garden, intimate garden settings of the Cunningham House, Fragrance Garden, Pollinator Garden, and Harry Wood Garden, green roofs, and seasonal container gardening featuring unusual annuals and tropical plants. Administrative Coordinator

The administrative coordinator (AC) provides high-level administrative support to the Chair, regular faculty members, and off-ladder faculty and ensemble directors for the Music program, as well as support and coordination of the department’s space in the Lang Music Building. Tasks performed with a high level of autonomy include: budget management (restricted and unrestricted) for the Music program and its ensembles and faculty; drafting and preparing correspondence and documents with minimal supervision; data management; coordination of public events (together with the Concert and Production Manager); coordinating and managing visiting performers, lecturers, prospective students, and other visitors to the department; equipment, supply; mail delivery support; scheduling support for courses; hiring, training, and supervising student workers; supporting web-based departmental information. The Head Athletic Trainer must have earned a degree in athletic training (or related field), have NATA BOC Certification and be certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) in the state of Pennsylvania. A master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field is preferred. The Head Athletic Trainer will draw upon their specialized education and training to provide preventative, rehabilitative, and emergency medical care for assigned teams/student-athletes in various settings—including before/during/after practices and contests as well as while managing athletic training room hours. The Collins lab seeks to hire a highly motivated laboratory Screening Assistant to work on research questions aimed at studying how the brain controls behavior, the impact of environmental chemicals and drugs on behavior, and the testing of new compounds for industry and medicine using freshwater planarians. This is a limited-term position and is on an annual renewal basis and subject to the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
The primary responsibilities of the Screening Assistant will be to set up and execute behavioral screens and data analysis thereof. The screening assistant will also perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks, help maintain equipment in good working order, and help with planarian maintenance and colony expansion as needed.
An additional portion of the work will involve the updating and maintenance of laboratory standard operating procedures and the organization of laboratory inventory of experimental samples and supplies, as well as aiding the lab manager with the organization of laboratory operations and lab safety procedures. This includes the collection and disposal of chemical and biological hazardous waste according to guidelines.
For experience level II, additional tasks will include assistance with the supervision and training of student workers, including providing lab safety training. For experience level III, additional tasks will include the development of new protocols, participation in workshops or training to acquire new skills, and the meta-analysis and interpretation of research data and scientific communication of the project to professional audiences. |
