CAPS emphasizes a multicultural orientation and a multimodal approach to providing services, aiming to address the complex needs of students on individual, as well as community/collective levels.

The multidisciplinary clinical staff is comprised of psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists. Additionally, there are doctoral psychology interns, social work interns, a Post-Doc resident and Post-grad Fellow.  Under the direction of the Director of CAPS, the Associate Director works collaboratively with CAPS Senior Staff and Case Manager to oversee all center clinical activities.

1. Senior management level clinician: reports to Director
2. Management oversight of day-to-day operation of CAPS
3. Coordinates the interface of the 3 Senior Staff:
    a. Psychology Training & Assessment Supervisor
    b. Social Work Training Supervisor; Webmaster
    c. Equity & Inclusion Supervisor; Didactic In-Service and Outreach program coordinator
4. Supervises the Case Manager for all Intake and Scheduling processes
5. Coordinates and supervises all Group Resources programs
6. Liaison to Offices: Dean; Student Engagement [OSE]; Title IX
7. Supervises clinical trainees
8. Leads summer Staff Orientation planning process
9. Provides assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy for students
10. Collaborates with consulting psychiatrist and Health Center medical staff
11. Acts as a psychological consultant to parents, faculty and staff
12. On-Duty Clinician, responsible for unscheduled requests, one day/wk; Available for Crisis Intervention
13. Plans and delivers Student Resource Persons training
14. Acting as Director when necessary

Essential Responsibilities:
• Must be able to communicate in English, including the ability to speak in public.
• Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including computer, printer, copier, calculator, and fax machine.
• Must be able to use Titanium software
• Must be able to speak on the telephone.
• Available after hours and weekends as necessary


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Psychology & Social Work trainees

Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Psychology or LCSW
Licensed in Pennsylvania
Minimum 5 years post graduate clinical experience working in college counseling center


Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have five or more years’ experience as a licensed mental health provider and must demonstrate experience and expertise in systems consultation and community engagement and work as part of a highly cohesive and interdisciplinary team in a college counseling center and with professionals in other campus units.

Applicants must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills that facilitate organizational health, as well as demonstrate a commitment to self-awareness and a desire for growth.

Applicants must have a strong background in the provision of individual, group, and triage services, as well as consultation with campus and community partners.

Applicants must be skilled in the provision of supervision of agency trainees.

Applicants must be skilled in the provision of crisis intervention and consultation.

It is essential that candidates have a strong diversity-focused clinical identity and commitment to exploring their own intersectionality as it relates to service to students. Strong preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience/commitment working with individuals from traditionally marginalized and oppressed groups.

Strong preference will be given also to candidates with college counseling center experience in a multidisciplinary setting. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or interest in developing community level interventions aimed at education as well as culture/climate change, demonstrate experience providing mental health consultation to various university constituents, and have a strong Clinical Professional identity.
