Assistant Horticulturist Swarthmore
The Assistant Horticulturist provides horticultural and artistic expertise, and events and program assistance to the Scott Arboretum. Areas of primary work include Entrance Garden, Teaching Garden, West Garden, Wister Center, but may include work in all parts of the 300 acre arboretum. Tasks performed include gardening, propagating, and assisting on special projects and events, co-supervising student workers and summer interns; assisting with visitor tours and providing the general public with horticultural information; assisting all members of the staff with general educational and "customer service" work/activities. Utility Mechanic I Swarthmore
The role of the Utility Mechanic is to work in conjunction with the Heat Plant Operators and the HVAC Technicians to maintain and repair all equipment and devices relating to heating, air conditioning and ventilation throughout the College campus and College housing. This is primarily a preventative and predictive maintenance role working with large and small pieces of stationary equipment according to an established schedule of machine maintenance and repair. This position requires working on equipment where 480v three phase power is commonplace, high temperature piping is present and medium pressure steam (150 psi) is present. Safe work practices are paramount in this environment. This position is a Non-Exempt 05.
