Environmental Technician - PT BE (Night Shift) Swarthmore
Under limited supervision, the Environmental Technician maintains the cleanliness levels in campus facilities. This is a part-time, benefits eligible position working the night shift.
Research Fellow Swarthmore
The department seeks a postdoctoral fellow to administer and maintain the ERP lab in support of collaborative research with faculty and students. This includes training students (and faculty) in the use of the facilities, as well as participating in the design, development and analysis of faculty-sponsored research using ERP equipment – sometimes in conjunction with eye-tracking or virtual reality. This support may include technical consulting and programming as well as presenting research at domestic and international conferences and helping to prepare research for publication. The position is for 2 years, beginning as early as July 1, 2024, with the possibility of extension.
Head, McCabe Access & User Services Swarthmore
Reporting to the Associate Director for Research, Instruction, and User Services, the Head of McCabe Access and User Services is responsible for the leadership and management of the McCabe Library Access and User Services department with oversight of circulation services, print and digital reserves, interlibrary loan, public facing technologies, building use, and security. They supervise 4 FTE staff and, with the staff, approximately 12 FTE student staff (60 individuals). The Head of McCabe Access and User Services fosters a collaborative, productive, and engaging work environment for Access Services staff. In coordination with the branch libraries and consortial colleagues at Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges, they seek to align practices and policies that enhance access to the libraries. They collaborate with the College’s Disabilities Services, Dean’s Office, ITS, and other student affairs services. A member of the Library Council, the Head of McCabe Access and User Services is responsible for contributing to priority setting and decision making. In collaboration with the Associate Director for Research, Instruction, and User Services as well as the Head of Research and Instructional Services, they provide coordination for all public-facing library services, ensuring that both regular and student staff provide the highest quality information services to library patrons.
Project Engagement Specialist Swarthmore
The Project Engagement Specialist is responsible for facilitating the efficient management of IT projects and change initiatives as assigned. Reporting to the Project Engagement Manager, this position collaborates with stakeholders to collect feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies aimed at enhancing customer engagement and project success. This role is also responsible for training, documentation management and executing educational and awareness campaigns, serving as a technology communicator, and change agent for the Swarthmore community.
Community Resource Lead - Public Safety Swarthmore
The Community Resource Lead for the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is an integral part of the support and resource network on campus. The Community Resource Lead is responsible for building positive community relationships throughout campus as well as for responding to routine and emergency calls for service, conducting initial and follow up investigations as appropriate, responding to medical incidents and both fire and intrusion alarms. They are also responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the multi-faceted Swarthmore College Communication Center.
Utility Lead Swarthmore
Oversees the Utility (Dish & Pots) team to ensure that all staff are following proper cleaning and sanitation protocols and procedures. Ensures proper chemicals are being used and accurate dish machine temperatures are maintained. Provides timely and reliable cleaning and maintenance support for Swarthmore Dining. Ensures the availability of a clean and sanitary supply of dishware, glassware, trays, pots, pans, utensils, and/or other smallwares. Responsible for cleaning of equipment, kitchen, and floors as needed throughout each meal period. Maintains and sanitizes the dish machine & pot area, pulper room and extruder room. Ensures a clean dining service facility. Must interact well with customers, co-workers and supervisors. Must work effectively, both independently and as a team member. We have multiple full-time openings, including 9-month and 12-month opportunities*. The Customer Service Associate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is able to maintain accuracy and efficiency with all transactions. Responsible for collecting payment in the forms of one card, cash, checks, or credit cards. The Food & Service Associate will work in any of the following stations depending on the schedule or need of the department: Barista, Beverages, Pizza, Salad Bar, Runner, or Server. The Van Driver will provide reliable transportation between Chester and Swarthmore for children who take part in the Chester Children's Chorus program. All Chester Children's Chorus positions start at a minimum of $17.00 an hour.
Shuttle Driver - Public Safety Swarthmore
Under general supervision, the Shuttle Driver operates the Garnet Shuttle to various points on campus and transports students, staff and faculty safely. All Swarthmore College positions start at a minimum of $17.00 an hour.
Temporary - Customer Service Associate Swarthmore
This part time, temporary position for the Swarthmore Campus and Community Store, will assist in order fulfillment and customer support for the store. The temporary position will be needed for around 20 hours per week, from Mid- August through Mid-September and again from Early-January through Early February, exact dates are based on the academic schedule for the College.
Temporary On-Call Production Technician Swarthmore
Swarthmore College, a highly selective liberal arts college, is located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The Lang Performing Arts Center (LPAC) integrates the arts into Swarthmore’s curriculum. The space houses many facilities which cater to the needs of the college’s artistic spectrum. The LPAC is versatile in its function: rehearsals, gallery installations, readings, film screenings, classes and performances are all simultaneously hosted within the building, making it a gravitational hub of campus activity. Under supervision, the On-Call Production Technician performs tasks for a variety of programs and events. This person may assist in the load-in, running, and production for performances in the LPAC.
