Community Resource Officer Patrol/Communications Swarthmore
The CRO is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of Swarthmore College students, campus property, community members, and visitors. The officer will be responsible for courteous and active engagement with the community. As an officer, you are the first responders to incidents involving the College and provide a service for routine and emergency calls to the College. You will conduct initial and follow-up investigations as needed and will respond to medical, fire, and intrusion alarm incidents. You will also need to be able to have clear communication, verbally and written, for making reports on incidents and investigations. This position is for the third shift, working 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. In this role, you will also be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the multi-faceted Swarthmore College Communication Center, which will require multitasking by controlling incoming calls and management of outgoing calls to other campus departments. Officers will be responsible for courteously providing information and assistance via telephone, radio, or in person to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the College. Officers will dispatch internal communications from the monitoring of CCTV, Access Control, from both fire and intrusion alarms, as well as key control of organizations’ keys for campus use. Public Safety is a 24/7/365 operation requiring coordination of communication and/or responding to incidents under demanding emergency conditions, such as inclement weather, as an essential skill. Public Safety will also provide ongoing training in a variety of areas, such as CPR/First Aid/AED, Stop the Bleed, De-escalation, and Mental Health First Aid.
Environmental Technician Swarthmore
Under limited supervision, the Environmental Technician maintains the cleanliness levels in campus facilities. This position is part-time, benefits-eligible, working 20 hours per week on the third shift.
Supply & Project Coordinator Swarthmore
The Supply & Project Coordinator provides services to ensure a clean and environmentally healthy campus. Tasks performed include safe driving, purchasing, and picking up supplies, supply inventory, par-levels, zero-waste initiatives, and projects, faculty housing duties, daily trash removal; cleaning and disinfecting bathroom fixtures and furniture; dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning both carpeted and non-carpeted floors and mats; maintaining bathroom paper and other supplies; helping supervisors communicating with employees about daily work assignments, assisting with training, and assisting with customer service issues.
Food & Services Associate (PT Pooled) Swarthmore
As a member of the Dining Services department, the Food & Service Associate will work in any of the following stations depending on the schedule or need of the department: Barista, Beverages, Pizza, Salad Bar, Runner, or Server. CCC Upper School Teacher Swarthmore
The Chester Children’s Chorus seeks an Upper School Teacher for its 2026 Summer Learning Program, which runs from Monday, June 22 through Thursday, July 23. Founded in 1994 by Dr. John Alston, the Chester Children's Chorus (CCC) provides rigorous music education to Chester, Pennsylvania students (grades 3-12). All CCC students are invited to attend the six-week CCC Summer Learning Program on the Swarthmore College campus. Students participate in daily choral music instruction, dance, art, academic and physical education classes. Upper School Teachers work with the Upper School Coordinator to lead, teach and support chorus members, grades 6-12, throughout the Summer Learning Program. The Upper School Teacher will also assist with camp preparations and follow-up activities as needed. The Upper School Teacher reports to the Managing and Education Director with added support from program staff.
CCC Upper School Elective Teacher - Summer Swarthmore

Founded in 1994 by Dr. John Alston, the Chester Children's Chorus (CCC) provides rigorous music and math education to Chester, Pennsylvania students (grades 3-12). All CCC students are invited to attend the five-week CCC Summer Learning Program on the Swarthmore College campus. Students participate in daily choral music instruction, dance, art, academic and physical education classes. We welcome interesting and creative class curricula. Examples of previous classes include history, creative writing, art, and dance. Camp occurs on the Swarthmore College campus.
Math Coach - Summer Swarthmore
Math Coaches work with the Lead Math Teacher to support classroom math instruction for chorus members, grades 3-5; and one-to-one Math Coaching for chorus members, grades 6-12.  Math classes and one-to-one coaching take place daily, Monday through Thursday, throughout the Summer Learning Program.  Math Coaches report to the Lead Math Teacher. The 2026 Summer Learning Programs runs from June 22 - July 22.
Senior Horticulturist/Horticulturist, Greenhouse & Nursery Operations Swarthmore
The Senior Horticulturist/Horticulturist, Greenhouse & Nursery Operations, provides horticultural support for the care and maintenance of the plant collections, gardens, and landscaped areas of the Scott Arboretum & Gardens and the entire Swarthmore College campus and properties owned by the College. Assists in maintaining the Wister Center Greenhouse, nursery, work spaces, hoop house, and growing areas of the Arboretum. Tasks performed include general gardening duties and plant collections maintenance; assisting in the maintenance of the Crum Woods and faculty/staff housing properties; program assistance for Scott Arboretum educational programs and volunteer education; co-supervising Horticulturists, volunteers, student workers and summer interns; providing assistance for College events; performing maintenance to keep the campus exteriors safe; providing assistance during weather emergencies, for snow and ice during winter storms, and for other grounds keeping duties; provides educational tours for Arboretum visitors. Reporting to the Director of Administrative Information Systems (AIS) in the Information Technology Services department, this highly collaborative position serves as the primary technical lead and functional analyst for the Division of Student Affairs. The Operations Systems Analyst provides comprehensive application administration, data analysis, and project management support for the division's technology portfolio. This role is critical to the College’s transition to Workday Student. The Analyst will lead the analysis of business processes, configuration, testing, and data validation for Student Affairs functional areas (including Academic Success, Registrar, Residential Life, Student Conduct, and Career Services) during the implementation. Post-implementation, the role will continue to oversee system optimizations, integrations, and reporting while supporting legacy third-party applications.

The Assistant Director, Swarthmore Campus & Community Store, supports the overall operation and strategic priorities of the Swarthmore Campus and Community Store. This position oversees daily operational processes, including reporting, e-commerce management, purchasing, inventory control, internal departmental orders, and customer service. The Assistant Director manages and trains sales associates and student employees, coordinates store priorities with the Director, and ensures a high level of service to the campus community and external customers. Associate Director, Public Safety Operations Swarthmore
The Associate Director of Public Safety Operations is responsible for overseeing the department's daily operations, ensuring the safety and security of the college's students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Associate Director is primarily responsible for leading, managing, and evaluating all campus safety personnel, programs, and services. Provide effective leadership in times of crises, conflict, and other challenges facing the safety of the campus. The Associate Director is a member of the Public Safety leadership team and works closely with campus stakeholders. The Department of Public Safety operates 24/7, supporting the safety and preparedness of the campus community.
Assistant Music Director Swarthmore
Reporting to the Artistic Director (AD), the Assistant Music Director (AMD) conducts and rehearses the younger members of the chorus (grades 3-5; 50-60 children) throughout the school year and summer, and prepares the groups for 10-12 concert performances per year. Rehearsals take place after school on weekdays and on Saturdays on the Swarthmore College campus.

Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, having a passion for food, enjoying being part of an energetic team and the opportunity to make a difference in the student’s dining experience on Swarthmore’s campus. Ensuring the timely meal production for a college dining program under the direction of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef. Preps ingredients and cooks or bakes menu items according to standard recipes. Ensures that food production meets the departmental standards of quality, taste, creativity, presentation, and variety. Responsibilities include assisting with execution of menu items, food safety and the proper sanitation of all kitchen equipment. This is a part-time position, working 15 hours per week during the academic year (August-May).
Postdoctoral Researcher Swarthmore
This NSF-funded position is for an interdisciplinary research project aimed at investigating how short-range forces generate long-range order in extreme tissue deformations using Hydra as an experimental system. Hydra is uniquely suitable for in vivo biomechanics studies due to optical transparency and amenability to chemical, physical, and genetic perturbations. Its simple anatomy makes it amenable to mathematical modeling. This position combines both experiments and modeling. The position is research focused but offers options for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Thus, this position is especially well-suited for individuals interested in a career at a primary undergraduate institution. It will provide opportunities for gaining teaching experience and guidance in developing a competitive research program amenable to undergraduate research. It also provides plenty of avenues to interact with faculty, postdocs, and undergraduate students in other departments at Swarthmore College, with colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania (only a 20-minute drive away), and national and international collaborators.
