Swarthmore College has an immediate opening for the position of Associate Registrar.

Reporting to the Registrar, the Associate Registrar manages the Registrar’s Office including acting as Registrar in the Registrar’s absence. Supervises two non-exempt staff, implements and manages the Office’s Banner Student database system and Argos database reporting, as well as all the daily functions and technologies of the office including Degree Works, Banner CAPP, Acalog, the 25Live Lynx integration with Banner, Faculty Services, and Major/Minor Portal, and NSLDS reporting through the Clearinghouse. Observes and enforces office and College policies. Collaborates with the Registrar in reviewing, planning, implementing and documenting Registrar’s Office projects, policies, procedures, and technologies. Represents the Office and the College at national professional conferences.

Essential Responsibilities:
Banner Student database functional end-user expertise and management along with expert and extensive database reporting.
As Honors Administrator for the Registrar’s Office and the College, manages and delivers a full range of client services for the Honors program in close consultation with the Honors Director, including planning, reporting, data entry, examination scheduling, and advising students, faculty, staff and Honors examiners.

Serves as the liaison between ITS Academic Information Systems team and the Student Affairs Division, offering expert oversight of data integrity, creation and maintenance of rule and validation tables, development of end user documentation, end user training, project management, testing and implementing new software releases, and problem resolution with Swarthmore ITS and external vendors.
Supervises the production of the annual online College Bulletin including collaborating across all administrative areas of the College.
Serves as a Designated School Official for International students and an academic advisor to visiting students.

Performs in Banner the tuition and fee assessment for all students and pro-rates student accounts as needed; assists in managing registration, classroom and examination scheduling, transfer credit, transcript production, degree audit, senior graduation certification and diploma preparation; data management of student demographics, class schedules, course listings, grades, etc.; interacting professionally with faculty, students, staff, alumni, parents, and outside parties; providing prompt, courteous and expert constituent service.

This is a full time exempt position at a salary grade 8.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position has two full-time Assistant Registrars as direct reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in ITS or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience necessary.
  • Demonstrated quality service and team orientation required.
  • Experience with enterprise level Student Information System Management, reporting, and training end users is required.
  • Experience with Degree Audit system management, reporting, and training end users is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Banner Student Information System Management, reporting and training is preferred.
  • Experience with Degree Works management, reporting, and training end users is preferred.
